About the app and its licence

Affelion Bible is an English-language Bible study, prayer and private journal app. These terms cover the App Store version for iPhone and iPad and the planned Google Play version for Android. It does not speak for God or determine God’s will for your decisions. Affelion’s explanations and suggested prayers are separate from Scripture.

For App Store downloads, the app licence is Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. That agreement applies to App Store downloads where the developer has not supplied a custom licence. Apple’s licence does not apply to Android downloads. Google Play downloads and payments are also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service. This page explains Affelion’s service and support; it does not replace the applicable store terms or reduce your legal rights.

Care and urgent help

The app is not counselling, medical care, therapy or an emergency service. It does not diagnose or treat a condition. Seek appropriate professional help when you need it. Prayer does not require you to feel calm or stay in an unsafe situation. Your writing is not monitored by Affelion, and support email is not an emergency channel.

If someone is in immediate danger, call the emergency number for their location.

Elsewhere, use your local emergency number. This list is available offline; calls and texts need a working phone connection. Affelion does not monitor your writing or contact a service for you.

Bible text

Bible text: World English Bible British Edition, the 66 books of the Protestant canon. Catholic and Orthodox Bibles include additional books.

Purchases, restores and refunds

The Bible, prayer, journal, bookmarks and study 1 are free. A single purchase unlocks studies 2–7 of Becoming. Its US base price is $4.99; the store you use shows the applicable local price and taxes before you pay. There is no automatic renewal. This purchase does not promise access to future courses.

Apple handles App Store payments through your Apple Account. Google handles Google Play payments through your Google Account. Restore purchases from the purchase screen or Settings using the same store and store account that bought the course. No Affelion account is needed. Course access does not automatically transfer between Apple and Google Play. Restore purchases restores course access, not your journal; use your private backup to restore writing. You can request a refund through Apple; eligibility is decided under Apple’s process and applicable law. For a Google Play purchase, follow Google’s refund request process. Google may direct you to the developer, including for requests more than 48 hours after purchase. Contact hello@affelion.com for help with access or a refund request; we will review the issue under the applicable store policy and consumer law. A refund can remove paid course access without deleting your local writing. Contact Affelion if you wish to exercise legal rights that apply to us.

Your writing and privacy

Your writing remains yours. It is stored on your device, and you choose whether to export a copy. Keep exported copies secure. See the privacy policy for storage limits, purchase-service data and deletion requests.

Responsibility and your rights

For App Store downloads, Apple’s standard licence sets out warranty and liability limitations. Those limitations apply only to the extent the law permits. We do not guarantee that the app will always be available or free of errors. Nothing on this page excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, or limits mandatory consumer rights, guarantees or remedies in your country. This page does not add a separate financial cap on liability.
